Intomics unique skills and vast experience with a broad range of high-throughput data types, such as genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, NGS data, network biology and literature mining, has been used in many research projects for clients in the pharmaceutical industry. We have helped several clients in the pharmaceutical industry identify genes or proteins as potential target candidates. The candidates were prioritized based on accumulated biological knowledge resulting in a high success rate and greatly reduced experimental follow-up costs.
Biomarker identification can be challenging and assessing the specificity of biomarkers even more so.
Intomics has been involved in several biomarker projects where expression data, genomics information, protein networks, and literature mining were combined to identify novel biomarkers - often with an accuracy exceeding 90 %.
When facilitating the generation of novel key hypotheses, gathering all available information and putting it the right disease context is crucial. We have made disease knowledge projects for clients, which has led to important biological insights and testable hypotheses by combining data and mapping it to the disease system of interest, e.g. an anatomical model of a particular organ.
In data mining projects, clients typically have a few data sets that needs to be analyzed for a very specific purpose, such as drug repurposing, toxicity analysis, or side-effect profile of a novel compound. In such projects, Intomics will combine clients data with public data if available, and mine all data in a tailored integrative approach to specifically address the purpose.
